Yesterday marked FIVE years since I started CrossFit. Where does time go?! Lots of pictures in this post so keep scrolling!!
I can say so much about CrossFi, who would have thought? When I started CrossFit I was the person that came in quietly, completeed what was on the board and was done for the day. I would not go to class if Grady was not picking me up to take me with him because I did not want to go alone. I also got really nervous if I did not know the workout the night before. They used to post the workout at 8:00 PM the night before and if it did not go up I had trouble sleeping because I liked to know what I would be completing the next day!
Oh how times have changed! I am far from shy, spend hours at the gym and sometimes make up workouts on the fly to do that day. In all reality I probably spend more time at the gym than I do my home (if you don't count the hours I sleep!)
I have met some AWESOME people from CrossFit. These people have become my friends that feel like family. They do all these things with and for me: listen, encourage, support, celebrate, sulk, brighten my days. I have not only met AWESOME people at CrossFit Harrisonburg but from so many other gyms and competitions, as well. It has brought so many people into my life that without it, I would have never met. Many of these people inspire me daily to keep working hard and enjoy the process.

Not only has CrossFit brought so many people in to my life but it has changed me as a person, I think for the better but who knows. I have grown mentally through the daily grind of CrossFit. Pushing yourself to the limit on a daily basis has a way to making you stronger mentally! Pushing at competitions for a teammate and staying level-headed even when it is a movement or workout that is not in my wheel-house has been such a mental gain for me. CrossFit keeps me sane but some people may think I am insane from what I do at CrossFit! :)
Obviously, all the hours put into working out and monitoring my nutrition has changed me physically. I can say that I am in the best shape of my life and that includes all my sport years. This Tori now would CRUSH Tori then when it came to sports and any type of conditioning. It took many years but I feel so comfortable in my skin. Okay, I still think I could change this or change that sometimes but then I remember how far I have come and remind myself it all takes time. Nutrition is KEY to this success! I feel better in my skin because I feel good from the inside out!

This whole CrossFit thing has been wonderful for me! I never push it on anyone but I can say that it has only made my life better; physically and mentally. Through it all I have had ups and downs but the ups far outweigh the downs! I don't have great days everyday but who does? I have shed some tears and been through some injuries but it doesn't stop me from going back because the friends and community are irreplaceable. I remember not being able to do a pull up when I started CrossFit and now I am doing them weighted, say what?!
All I can say is I am SO THANKFUL that CrossFit came into my life. The love I have for fitness and nutrition now is unreal! Let me end with a couple transformation pictures from the past!
Hope you all have a WONDERFUL day!
