ADVENTURING

Wow, what a weekend! :) Going into this past weekend I had a "rough draft" plan of what all adventures Tom and I would be partaking in and it was nothing short of awesome!
This weekend was filled with food, fitness, family and..... jeepin' fun (yeah, it doesn't start with an "f" but I tried!)
Friday night started with a wonderful dinner at a new restaurant. Tom and I tried out Rocktown Kitchen and it was absolutely delicious! If you have not been yet, you should go. We went the seafood route with some fried oysters, crab cakes and ahi tuna, and Oh Em Gee it was AMAZING! I am ready to go back and try out the rest of the menu, like yesterday! We did not get dessert but the menu looked very yummy!
We started Saturday by completing "Murph" at CrossFit Harrisonburg. Murph is what CrossFit calls a hero workout and many gyms around the country do this particular workout on Memorial Day weekend. It is in memory of Navy Lieutenant Michael Murphy and consists of the following:
For time: 1 mile Run 100 Pull-ups 200 Push-ups 300 Squats 1 mile Run
Do this all with a 20# weight vest
This was my fifth year completing this workout, and each year I have done it differently and pushed a little harder as you continually remind yourself to push through what "seems hard" to you. We had almost 30 people come to CrossFit Harrisonburg on Saturday to do this workout together to start their weekend. Blessed to be able to do what we love everyday.

The rest of our Saturday included lots of yummy treats (Pulp and Chipotle) and lots of episodes of Prison Break. So many episodes that the TV may have judged us a couple times, oops! You know, when Netflix says "Are you still watching?" ... like really, is that even a question?! YES!
On Sunday Tom and I went OFF ROADING, heck yes! We took Rubi and Roxy out for a little spin to start our Sunday. We may still be trying to figure out the best spots for off roading in the area so we tried out a couple different trails. We started at Switzer Lake and then ended back up at Reddish Knob on a different trail. It was raining so that made it extra muddy and fun. Sadly, we got about 15-20 minutes into the trail at Reddish Knob and there was a tree down so we ended our Jeepin' adventure by turning around and just heading to the top of Reddish Knob for some spectacular views. We finished our Sunday with more FOOD as we went to Grady and Megan's for a cookout and finished off the evening with MORE episodes of Prison Break (don't judge)!

The big plus of the weekend was after Sunday I still had Monday off! Bet you cannot guess what Monday consisted off?! Started the day with Partner Murph + some and then we "brunched" it! Really we just ate breakfast after lunch time but it was delicious and so much fun! After brunch, I headed up to mom's with Grady and Megan to enjoy some family time, food and laughs. Those times with family are always great for the heart and mind, love 'em. Then Tom and I finished off Monday with some more.......Prison Break. I know you won't believe it but we are almost done with Season One! Binge watching at its finest!

So thankful for a wonderful weekend adventuring, fitnessing and laughing! I hope you all were able to enjoy a wonderful weekend with family and friends and that it was full of laughs as well!
Here is to another GREAT week ahead!
