VACATION DAY

Well, I wish it was still my vacation day but it's back to work today. I am so thankful I took off Friday to catch up and spend time with some awesome humans in Roanoke.

My trip to Roanoke was to cheer on Regina as she took on the Masters Qualifiers for the CrossFit Games. She was sitting in 46th place going into the qualifiers and has four workouts to do between Friday and Monday. Once she completes these four workouts, she enters her scores, they average out the placings and the top TWENTY make it to the games.

I took a vacation day on Friday so I could head down to Roanoke on Thursday night and be there ready to go on Friday for her first workout! Originally my plan was to do them all with her but I also like to cheer her on and keep her pushing so I ended up only doing one of the workouts with her. So far she is crushing the workouts and even repeated one and beat her original score by 83 reps ... say what?! So awesome!

Although, visiting Regina was the reason I went to Roanoke it just so happened my college roomie, Rachel, was in town from Washington visiting her family so I was lucky enough to have lunch with her, her mom and her son! Being that she lives in Washington we do not see each other much so I was so thankful the time overlapped and we were able to catch up at Wildflour for lunch, which was delicious. Not only did I get to catch up with Rachel but I got to head downtown later that evening to catch up and hang out with Sami. Sami and I met from a freak accident (I took a pull up bar to the mouth, ha) and have stayed friends since. We usually only get to catch up at CrossFit competitions so it was nice to finally get to grab a drink and hang out outside of the gym. My Friday was jam packed, just the way I like it!

Saturday was full of fitness and friends, as well. I cheered on Regina as she crushed another Masters Qualifier and then got in my own fitness to top off my trip to Roanoke. I originally had planned to stay the whole weekend but with the weather and a new week ahead I decided to head back on Saturday evening after a quick stop at a cute little coffee shop in Roanoke.

The fun didn't stop in Roanoke --yay! A bunch of us went downtown to the new Magnolia's Tacos and Tequila Bar and it did not disappoint. It was an evening full of laughs and memories that will always bring a smile to my face ... oh and full of margs and tacos, yum! It was delicious and I cannot wait to go back for some more tacos!

To top off the weekend, I had a relaxing Sunday with a splash of yoga at CrossFit Harrisonburg. It is always nice to have Sunday to prepare for the week and get the mind and body rejuvenated after a full weekend.

Who is prepared for the week?

Have a day to remember ladies and gents, and GOOD LUCK to Regina as she finishes up her final workouts today!
